IOM Global Migration Film Festival

This year’s IOM’s Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) will take place from 5 – 18 December, 91 countries participated, over 300 films were submitted and some 10,000 people is expected to attend screenings at cinemas, universities, cultural institutions and other venues around the globe.

In Rwanda, the GMFF is beeing done in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Kigali and the Embassy of Switzerland in Nairobi, and it will consist on a three days event at the Goethe-Institute premises that included five films from the IOM’s official selection, one from a Kenyan film maker currently based in Rwanda and the world premiere of two films from Rwandan film makers.

Also, as the closing event, a panel discussion under the topic “Migration and Culture” was organized with the film makers, Swiss Regional Head of International Cooperation, actress Carole Karemera and an IOM migration expert.

All the screenings are free of charge!

Includes ITC First Aid Manual and Certificate

This course specifically covers how to manage a medical emergency or accident in remote locations such in rural communities, on safari, when trekking or anywhere when it will take time to get to hospital.

This fun, informative and very practical course will be delivered by a highly experienced outdoor activity instructor and qualified British Immediate Temporary Care (ITC) First Aid trainer.

The course will use modern teaching methods and practices that really help you to remember the important information when you need it.

The ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid Training [2] covers the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in an outdoors environment. It will take place over two days with 8 hours of training on each day.

Assessment takes place throughout the course using continued observation of practical competency. The two-day course allows for further application and development of the techniques in practical scenarios. Meaning that candidates have a chance to develop their confidence in applying their new skills in a variety of real locations and settings.

Note that this is a practical outdoor course: On the second day in particular you will be spending a large amount of time outside. The course will be delivered in English.
